- 01While Saudi Arabia is highly digitized, we strongly recommend printing a physical copy of your E-Visa (PDF). Why: Some airlines may require a paper copy at check-in counters before boarding. Additionally, in case your phone battery dies or you have no internet connectivity upon arrival, a paper copy ensures a smooth entry at border control. Keep it with your passport in your hand luggage.
- 02No. There is a crucial difference between "Validity" and "Duration of Stay." Validity (1 Year): You can enter the Kingdom anytime within 365 days from the issue date. Duration of Stay (90 Days): You can stay for a maximum of 90 days in total. This is usually cumulative (multiple visits adding up to 90 days) or per visit, depending on the specific regulations at the time of entry. Always check the stamp given by the immigration officer.
- 03Yes. Your E-Visa allows entry through all major international airports (e.g., Jeddah KAIA, Riyadh KKIA, Dammam, Madinah), land borders (e.g., Causeway from Bahrain), and sea ports. Note: If you are traveling specifically for Umrah, most pilgrims prefer landing in Jeddah (JED) or Madinah (MED) for proximity to the Holy Sites.
- 04If you plan to perform Umrah or pray in the Rawdah (Al-Masjid an-Nabawi), the answer is Yes. The E-Visa gets you into the country. The Nusuk App gets you into the specific religious sites by booking a time slot. We recommend downloading and registering on Nusuk as soon as your visa is issued. For more details, refer to our Umrah E-Visa guide.
- 05Absolutely NOT. Your E-Visa is electronically linked to the specific passport number you provided. If you renew, lose, or replace your passport after receiving the visa, the visa becomes invalid. You must apply for a new E-Visa with your new passport details. You cannot travel with a new passport and an old visa attached to an expired passport number.
- 06Your E-Visa automatically includes mandatory health insurance. To use it: Visit any hospital or clinic in Saudi Arabia. Present your Passport and E-Visa copy. The hospital staff will verify your coverage via the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance (CCHI) system using your passport number. For coverage limits and provider details, please read our Saudi Medical Insurance Guide.
- 07Overstaying your visa is a serious offense in Saudi Arabia. Penalties: You may face significant fines (starting from SAR 15,000), deportation, and a potential ban from re-entering the Kingdom in the future. Advice: Always carefully calculate your days. If you need to stay longer, you must exit the country and re-enter with a new visa (if eligible) or check with local authorities, though E-Visas are generally non-extendable from within the country.
