- 01Yes. Under the current 2026 regulations, women of all ages can apply for a Saudi Arabia E-Visa and travel to the Kingdom independently. The previous "Mahram" (male guardian) requirement has been officially removed for both tourism and the Umrah pilgrimage. Whether you are traveling for spiritual reasons or solo exploration, you can secure your authorization on our Umrah E-Visa (https://www.evisaudi.com/umrah-e-visa)or E-Tourist Visa (https://www.evisaudi.com/e-tourist-visa)pages.
- 02While the Kingdom has modernized significantly, respecting local culture is essential. • For Women: Wearing an Abaya or headscarf is not mandatory for tourists in most public places. However, clothes must be modest (covering shoulders and knees). • For Men: Avoid wearing shorts or sleeveless shirts in public and government buildings. • Important: When entering the Holy Sites in Makkah or Madinah, traditional modest Islamic attire is strictly required for all.
- 03Yes. The Saudi Arabia E-Tourist Visa is versatile. While it is primarily for leisure and Umrah, it officially permits holders to attend business meetings, workshops, and trade conferences. However, it does not allow you to work for a Saudi company or receive a salary within the Kingdom. For work-related travel, you would need a specific employment visa. Check our Visa Types and Prices (https://www.evisaudi.com/visa-types-and-prices)for more information.
- 04Your Saudi E-Visa grants you entry into the country, but religious rituals in the Holy Cities require specific permits to manage crowds. Once your visa is approved via our Standard Visa Process,(https://www.evisaudi.com/standard-visa-process) you must download the Nusuk App. You will use your visa number to register and book your time slots for Umrah and praying in the Rawdah (Madinah).
- 05Saudi Arabia has strict customs laws to maintain its cultural values. Prohibited items include: • Alcohol: All forms of alcohol are strictly forbidden. • Narcotics: Possession of illegal drugs carries extremely high penalties. • Pork Products: All food items containing pork are prohibited. • Religious Materials: Items related to faiths other than Islam intended for proselytizing are not allowed. For a safe journey, please review our Legal Disclaimers (https://www.evisaudi.com/legal-disclaimers)regarding traveler conduct.
- 06While Saudi Arabia is opening many historic sites to everyone, Makkah remains restricted to Muslims only. Non-Muslims are generally allowed to visit the city of Madinah, but entry into the Prophet’s Mosque (Al-Masjid an-Nabawi) and the surrounding "Haram" area is typically restricted to Muslims. If you are a non-Muslim traveler, we recommend exploring the incredible heritage of AlUla, Jeddah, and Riyadh instead.
- 07Yes. If you are bringing prescribed medication into the Kingdom, you must carry a valid medical prescription from your doctor, preferably in English. Ensure the medicine is in its original packaging. Some strong painkillers or psychiatric medications may require prior approval from the Saudi Embassy. If you have concerns about your health coverage during the trip, refer to our Saudi Medical Insurance Guide.(https://www.evisaudi.com/saudi-medical-insurance-guide)
